Senator Carl Levin Endorses Pat Miles in Grand Rapids

Senator Carl Levin made a campaign stop in Grand Rapids for congressional candidate Pat Miles.

Levin said, “This district has a reputation for sending moderate people to Washington; people who are willing to work with others, who are open-minded, who are willing to listen. Party labels aren’t nearly as important as practical results. To me, Pat Miles represents that tradition for West Michigan. In Pat we have a candidate who has decades of experience in community service, working with hospitals, universities, young people, to make things better. He’s got an outstanding record in the community.”

“His opponent has been the only no vote on 59 occasions, just during his first term. The contrast here is as sharp as I’ve seen in any race. An amazing contrast in terms of commitment to what we should be doing as a community; how we can work together to better our lives. That’s the kind of commitment that Pat has represented in this community. We have a real opportunity here in this district to win this race.”

Miles said, “I am proud to have Senator Carl Levin here to campaign for me. He has won the 3rd District in his own races, and in November, we will do the same. This year more than any other, voters don’t care about party labels. They want problems solved. They want someone who will use common sense and reach across the aisle to find common ground to create jobs, fix the economy, invest in education, and reduce the federal deficit.”
