Patrick Miles Announces Second Straight Quarter of Leading the Field in MI-3 Fundraising

Grand Rapids – Patrick Miles, Democratic candidate for Congress in Michigan's 3rd Congressional District announced that  his campaign received over $200,000 in the second quarter of 2010. As of June 30, 2010, the campaign reported about $260,000 cash on hand, which is the most of any candidate in the race, and a total of $310,000 raised since Miles announced his intention to run for Congress on March 18.

That total includes more than 600 individual contributors, 500 of which were from Michigan, with more than 435 new contributors in the month of June alone.

Miles said, “I am grateful to the many individuals who are investing in this campaign. Not only are regular people giving what they can, but they are also volunteering their valuable time. More than 300 volunteers have signed up to talk to their neighbors and spread the word about the campaign."

"Together we can work to get results in Congress, improve the economy, create jobs, invest in education, and rein in deficit spending," said Miles. "Our campaign is in a great position to bring our message to the voters and win this race. With the help of strong financial support and engaged volunteers, we will have the momentum we need to help end extreme partisanship in Congress and change the tone in Washington."
